But I also had an extremely rigorous and time consuming study method for it, and I wouldn’t recommend it to most people. This method worked for me, and I got As in both OChem1 and 2, while the vast majority of the class either got Cs. If you force yourself now to get the hang of it, you’ll be so far ahead your classmates and most likely have a smooth ride all throughout OChem 1. I’d recommend ordering the OChem book your professor wants over the summer, and then studying maybe 5+ chapters ahead.
It’s not just a class you can memorize and cram information in for (or at least it’s difficult to use this method), you’ve genuinely got to understand mechanisms and be able to use a huge toolkit of reagents to make your desired product. Biology, but maybe it’s because I just find the building block nature of it really fun. I personally loved it and it made me switch my major to Biochemistry and molec. Orgo is nothing like basic inorganic chemistry, I’ve seen so many people who have fallen through Orgo yet have gotten straight As prior.
